What is autism?
Autism is a disabling condition that persists throughout life, it can present in all races and social groups without distinction.
People with autism have difficulties primarily in the areas of:

What causes it?
Until today the causes of autism are unknown, but recent research suggests that it results from a disorder of the central nervous system and NOT from emotional problems or poor parenting.
Te believe today is that it may have a genetic factor and an environmental and / or biological one, but this has not been proved.
About Autism Program Teleton
In February 2010 the Teleton Autism Program began to support people with autism and their families. Its objectives are:

Services
The services given by the Teleton Autism Program are the diagnosis (at ITESUR facilities), family guidance and referral to specialized centers. It´s important to note that in the CRIT is not going to give therapeutic care and education for autism.
Teleton Autism Program works very closely with specialized institutions in order to generate higher quality care capacity for individuals with autism. This is done through training, certification and / or support to various institutions to which they can direct people diagnosed by the Autism Program.
